Swensons Buffet Review: Is the $35 Ice Cream & Pizza Buffet Worth It?
Swensons
Everyone knows Swensons for their huge ice cream variety. So we decided to check out their dessert-focused buffet with 46 ice cream flavours, fresh pizza, and seafood!
What We Ordered
Seafood Selection ⭐ 7/10⭐ 7/10

Mussels, prawns, crab, and clams feel premium for this price range. They weren't particularly fresh and missed that natural seafood sweetness, but reasonable given the price you are paying.
Ice Cream Selection ⭐ 10/10⭐ 10/10

They have 46 different flavours for you to choose from. The scoops are generous, so i would recommend can askinf for smaller portions if you want to try more varieties.
Pizza Station ⭐ 10/10⭐ 10/10

The pizza station was one of the better dish options of the buffet. They make them fresh in front of you, and everything comes out hot from the oven. Better than Domino's, which isn't a high bar but still impressive for buffet food.
Crayfish ⭐ 8/10⭐ 8/10

Having crayfish at a $35 buffet feels like a steal as well! Similar to the other seafood selections, they lacked the natural sweetness that fresh crayfishes have. But honestly, for the the price point, we cant really complain.
Meat Selection ⭐ 9/10⭐ 9/10

The ribs were tender and flavourful, which was a pleasant surprise as it was left out for pretty long. The rotisserie chicken was a bit dry, but the satays were solid.
Cendol Station ⭐ 9/10⭐ 9/10

This was a nice surprise as i wasn't expecting a chendol station. The cendol was delicious and felt like good value as part of the spread.
Waffle Station ⭐ 8/10⭐ 8/10

Fresh waffles are always a win for me. My tip would be to keep a look out and get a fresh hot piece when they're making a new batch :p The waffles went especially well with the ice cream selection.
Sides ⭐ 7/10⭐ 7/10

Fish cutlet, fries, onion rings, and sliders were exactly what you'd expect. Nothing special but fine to nibble on. I would skip these and save space for other items from the buffet though.
Desserts ⭐ 6/10⭐ 6/10

The brownies and various crumbles (cempedak, banana, apple) were a bit dry for my liking. The cempedak crumble was interesting though. You can skip if you're already full.
There was also a chocolate fountain as well which I visited multiple times... 🤣

They also have a kueh section which i skipped as i was too full

Overall Thoughts
Buffet price ranges from $35-$60 (See menu below)

It's definitely worth it for families and dessert lovers, especially at weekday lunch prices.
Pro Tip:
My strategy if you do visit would be to:
- Start with pizza
- Try ribs + satay
- Grab waffles fresh from the station
- Try crayfish / seafood if you like shellfish
- End with ice cream
Hope this helps! :)
