This definitely lived up to the hype. The creamy tom yum sauce was incredibly rich and indulgent, with a nice balance of tanginess and spice without being overwhelming. The pasta was cooked al dente, while the huge crispy king prawns added plenty of texture and made the dish feel extra satisfying. Must try!!

Delicious cheesy indulgent side! Nothing too unique but definitely a satisfying comforting dish. Crispy fries were generously loaded with nacho cheese and mayo, making them dangerously addictive to snack on while waiting for the mains.

The fish portion was MASSIVE with a light, crispy batter and flaky fish inside. It comes with their signature Alscampi sauce that's rich, creamy and loaded with seafood, almost like a luxurious seafood chowder with a slight tangy finish. You can even swap the fries for pasta salad if you prefer (which I did 😝).

A comforting starter that's hard to go wrong with. The popcorn chicken stayed crispy even with the salted egg sauce, and I especially liked that the fresh chilli added an unexpected spicy kick which balanced the richness nicely. There could have been more sauce provided though, as it got dry towards the end.

Overall Thoughts

49 Seats has been a local favourite for years, and it's easy to see why. The portions are generous, prices are reasonable for the quality, and their signature creamy Tom Yum Pasta still remains one of the most unique dishes around.

The new Holland Village outlet also has a cool industrial-inspired interior and stays open until 2am, making it a great supper spot with friends.

Would I return? Definitely. Incredibly delicious comforting food especially for supper
