What We Ordered
Kway Chap Set 💰 $5.50 · ⭐ 8.5/10💰 $5.50 · ⭐ 8.5/10

One of the most satisfying old-school kway chap I've had in awhile. For just $5.50, you get an incredibly generous portion loaded with braised pork belly, intestines, tau pok, salted vegetables and braised egg. Everything is braised daily for at least 4 hours, allowing the ingredients to soak up all the rich flavours beautifully.

One thing I really appreciated is that you can choose between white or black kway chap, which is becoming increasingly difficult to find nowadays. The silky rice sheets were thick and chewy, soaking up just the right amount of the savoury braised gravy in every bite.

The braised broth was another highlight. Rich, savoury and packed with depth, yet it finishes surprisingly clean without feeling overly heavy.

Pair everything with their tangy, spicy chilli and it helps cut through the richness perfectly.

Overall Thoughts
If you're a fan of traditional Teochew kway chap, this hidden old-school spot is definitely worth checking out. The portions are incredibly generous for the price, the braised meats are tender and flavourful, and the broth has that comforting homemade taste that's becoming harder to find. Being able to choose between white and black kway chap is an added bonus for those who appreciate the more traditional style.
Would I return? Yes!! And I’ll bring my family along too :)
