What We Ordered
Mee Tai Mak 💰 $5.50 · ⭐ 9.5/10💰 $5.50 · ⭐ 9.5/10

Before we review the kolo mee, i have to introduce you to their mee tai mak. This was spicy, sweet and savoury chewy noodles topped with generous portions of char siew that were sweet and tender. I usually don't prefer mee tai mak, but this bowl absolutely changed my mind.
What made this bowl even better was mixing the perfectly cooked egg yolk into the noodles, creating a rich and creamy combination that coated everything beautifully. The char siew added a lovely sweetness to the dish, while the savoury sauce and chilli gave it plenty of flavour. Every bite was honestly so indulgent and enjoyable.
Just look at char siew dipped in the creamy egg yolk.... YUM
Chicken Cutlet Noodles 💰 $5 · ⭐ 9/10💰 $5 · ⭐ 9/10
This was so delicious as well. Springy noodles coated in a rich, savoury sauce, topped with juicy, crispy chicken cutlets.
The noodles were incredibly chewy and satisfying, with the savoury sauce coating every strand really well. The chicken cutlet was crispy on the outside while remaining tender inside, making every bite super indulgent. For just $5, this was such a satisfying bowl and one of so value for money.
Overall Thoughts
Lao Gai Mee is such a hidden gem in Beauty World, especially for how affordable the food is. The noodles were springy and flavourful, the portions were satisfying, and both dishes we tried were packed with flavour.
At just $5–$5.50 a bowl, this is definitely a spot worth checking out if you're craving comforting Sarawak-style noodles without spending too much.
Would I return? Absolutely!
