Barrio: Good Spanish Food in a Quiet Neighbourhood
Barrio
Barrio leans more modern Spanish than old-school, and the Iberico pork paella was easily the standout for me. It’s in a quieter neighbourhood too, which made the whole meal feel a lot more relaxed than the usual city dinner spot.
What We Ordered
Paella with Iberico Pork ⭐ 8/10⭐ 8/10

Starting off strong with my favourite dish of the meal! The Iberico pork was so rich and had this premium taste that made regular pork seem so basic in comparison 🤣. The rice absorbed all the flavors well, and the portion was generous enough for sharing.
Black Truffle Cheesy Toast Beef Tapas ⭐ 8/10⭐ 8/10

These were addictive from the first bite. The black truffle added that earthy depth, and the cheese and beef combination worked really well on the crispy toast base.
Seabass Ceviche ⭐ 8/10⭐ 8/10

Refreshing and tangy with a good balance of acidity. The seabass was fresh, and it paired nicely with the tortilla chips. This was a good palate cleanser from the rich mains.
Grilled Prawns ⭐ 7.5/10⭐ 7.5/10

These were huge and juicy. The prawns came with crispy toast and hummus, which was a nice touch. Good quality seafood, though not as memorable as the other dishes we tried.
Charcoal Pineapple ⭐ 7/10⭐ 7/10

Charcoal pineapple with coconut, tapioca sago, and ice cream. The combination was interesting and worked better than expected. The charcoal added a subtle smoky flavor that balanced the sweetness well.
Churros with Chocolate ⭐ 7/10⭐ 7/10

Crispy outside, soft and airy inside, which is exactly what you want from churros. The chocolate dipping sauce was rich, and the texture was spot on. A solid way to end the meal.
Overall Thoughts
Barrio is a spot I would definitely recommend if you are craving for good Spanish food. What makes it even better was that the service staff were all so delightful and warm. Had such a lovely experience and I can't wait to be back!
Would I return? Yes, especially for that paella :p
